Ownership and Governance

Crittenden Health Systems is a not-for-profit healthcare organization. The organization’s not-for-profit status ensures that all financial resources remaining after expenses are paid are then legally committed to improving technology, patient services, and facilities.

Crittenden Health Systems is a 501C3 organization and is governed by a eight-member voluntary Board of Directors. Members of the Crittenden Health Systems Board of Directors represent a broad demographic spectrum of Crittenden County. The Crittenden County Fiscal Court appoints members of the Board of Directors.

It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to determine hospital policy and provide direction and counsel on management, administrative planning, and development. Directors are also responsible for organization compliance with applicable legal requirements, maintenance of professional and ethical standards of health services, sound financial management, and selection and appointment of a qualified medical staff.

Board meetings are scheduled monthly, usually the fourth Tuesday of each month. An annual meeting is open to the public, and are typically held in March.
