Director of Rural Health Clinics
The Director of Rural Health Clinics provides strategic and operational leadership for Crittenden Community Hospital’s Rural Health Clinics, including Family Practice Clinic, Fredonia Family Care and future expansion sites.

This position is responsible for the overall performance of clinic operations, including financial management, staffing oversight, patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and integration with hospital services. The Director ensures the clinics operate efficiently, meet budget targets, support provider productivity, and maintain a strong patient-centered culture.

This is a visible leadership role requiring accountability, collaboration, and the ability to function as both an operational leader and a boots on the ground manager when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Oversee daily operations.

Supervise approximately 20 FTE clinic staff in coordination with the Medical Staff.

Ensure efficient patient flow, scheduling optimization, and timely access to care

Foster a high-performing, accountable team culture

Financial Management

Develop and manage clinic operational budgets in collaboration with hospital leadership

Monitor revenue, expenses, productivity, and visit volume trends

Implement strategies to meet or exceed financial performance targets

Identify operational improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce waste

Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with Rural Health Clinic regulations and federal/state requirements

Maintain adherence to OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, and personnel laws

Oversee documentation standards and support accurate billing practices

Patient Experience & Quality

Champion a patient-focused culture across all clinic sites

Monitor patient satisfaction and implement service improvement initiatives

Promote quality improvement and performance excellence initiatives

Human Resources & Team Development

Lead recruitment, hiring, coaching, and performance management of clinic staff

Conduct performance evaluations and recommend salary adjustments

Address employee relations concerns and administer disciplinary actions when necessary

Ensure proper staffing levels and coordinate coverage needs

Integration & Strategic Alignment

Serve as a liaison between clinic operations and hospital departments

Align clinic operations with hospital strategic initiatives

Improve communication and collaboration between outpatient and hospital services

Support expansion initiatives, including new clinic locations

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of clinic leadership or supervisory experience required

Healthcare clinic management experience required

Multi-site leadership experience preferred

Rural Health Clinic experience strongly preferred

Strong financial, organizational, and leadership skills

Physical Demands

Requires walking and prolonged periods of sitting.
