Crittenden Community Hospital is a Rural Emergency Hospital dedicated to providing high-quality care to our community in Marion, Kentucky, and the surrounding region. Our hospital offers emergency services, outpatient surgery, laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and specialty clinics.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee daily operations of our hospital laboratory. This position supervises testing activities, manages staff, ensures compliance with CLIA, Kentucky, and accreditation standards, and supports quality and safety initiatives.
In addition to leadership duties, the Lab Manager will actively participate in laboratory testing and operations as needed to support the team. This is a hands-on role at times, ideal for someone who enjoys both managing and working alongside staff to ensure excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily laboratory operations and ensure timely, accurate testing
• Supervise, schedule, and ensure adequate lab staffing
• Perform laboratory testing as needed to support operations
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, Kentucky, and accrediting body standards
• Oversee quality control, proficiency testing, and quality assurance programs
• Assist with inspections and survey readiness
• Manage lab supplies and equipment maintenance
• Collaborate with the Laboratory Medical Director and hospital leadership

Qualifications (to meet CLIA and KY standards):
• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science
OR
• Associate degree (MLT) + bachelor’s degree in a relevant science field + qualifying high-complexity lab experience
• Experience:
• Must meet CLIA General Supervisor requirements for high complexity testing:
• Bachelor’s degree + at least 1 year of high complexity lab testing experience
• OR Associate + bachelor’s + at least 2 years of high complexity testing experience
• Certification (preferred):
• MLS/MT (ASCP) or equivalent national certification
• MLTs with qualifying degrees and experience are encouraged to apply
