Crittenden Community Hospital – Marion, Kentucky**
Full-Time | Reports to Chief Executive Officer**
Crittenden Community Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Radiology to lead our Diagnostic Imaging Department. This is a working leadership position that combines departmental management with direct patient care in a collaborative rural hospital environment.
The Director of Radiology is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of the department, including regulatory compliance, quality improvement, staffing, budgeting, equipment management, and strategic planning. The Director performs X-ray and CT procedures as needed, participates in the department's on-call rotation, and ensures adequate backup coverage when unavailable.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys remaining clinically engaged while leading a team and helping shape the future of imaging services.
Our Imaging Department
Crittenden Community Hospital provides a full range of diagnostic imaging services, including:
General Radiography (X-ray)
Computed Tomography (CT)
Ultrasound
Nuclear Medicine
MRI services
Primary Responsibilities
Lead the daily operations of the Radiology Department.
Perform X-ray and CT procedures while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
Develop and manage departmental staffing schedules.
Participate in the department's on-call rotation and ensure appropriate backup coverage when unavailable.
Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate imaging personnel.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, accreditation, and radiation safety standards.
Maintain the department's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs.
Oversee departmental budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and capital equipment planning.
Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
Develop, implement, and update departmental policies and procedures.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, administration, and ancillary departments to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
Support strategic planning and future growth of Diagnostic Imaging services.
Foster a positive, patient-centered culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and excellence.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Current Kentucky Radiologic Technologist license in good standing.
ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required.
CT
Minimum of three to five years of clinical imaging experience.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of state and federal regulations, radiation safety standards, and accreditation requirements.
Experience with staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and departmental operations preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, staff, and hospital leadership.
Comfortable working in a rural hospital environment requiring flexibility and direct patient care involvement.
