Position Title: Home Health Secretary/Rehab Administrative Asst
Location: Crittenden Community Hospital, Marion, KY
Department: Home Health/Rehab
Employment Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs office duties such as transcription, scheduling of patients, insurance pre-certifications, assisting therapists with patient care and other special projects as assigned. Maintains general office practice procedures and assist Director with executive policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Function as secretary for called meetings, and handle incoming and outgoing mail.
2.Assist with work in the admission process of patients. Schedules all patients for treatments.
3.Responsible for obtaining initial and ongoing insurance authorizations.
4.Performs a wide variety of assignments which are often confidential in nature including sending/receiving faxes that may include Protected Health Information (PHI).
5.Takes calls from doctors' offices and sets up initial evaluations for the rehabilitation staff.
6.Tracks patient visits and recertification period to ensure compliance with physician orders.
7. Aide Therapist or assistant with providing patient care according to position competency and maintaining a clean environment during patient treatments.
8.Responsible for discharging accounts at end of month.
9.Maintain good communication skills.
10.Receive, translate, and interpret information in regards to referral information.
11.Answers telephone, gives, and receives messages.
12.Establishes, maintains, and revises record keeping and filing systems. Files correspondence, records and other documents.
13.Performs other related duties as assigned.
14.Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities.

17.Must attend all mandatory inservices.
18.Complies with all applicable state and federal laws and conducts job activities in an ethical manner as outlined in Crittenden Health Systems policies and procedures and in accordance with the standards and practices stipulated in the Corp. Compliance Plan.

5.Efficient in computer skills

Education, Training or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Courses in typing and/or shorthand, dictation, office practice preferred. Efficient in computer skills
Knowledge of filing procedures and simple bookkeeping
Proficient in general computer skills required
CPR Certified
Six months experience as a Medical/Transcription preferred but not mandatory
Be organized and efficient in use of time, material, and energy
Ability to adapt to change, nonjudgmental attitude

Physical Demands:
Ability to endure long periods of sitting and ability to withstand prolonged periods of use of computer
Ability to lift minimum of 10 lbs.
