Medical Assistant/Receptionist @ Fredonia Family Care Clinic
Crittenden Community Hospital is looking to expand our team!

We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant/Receptionist at Fredonia Family Care Clinic for PRN.

JOB SUMMARY:
Organizes and completes all clerical duties in the clinic for numerous specialty clinics. These duties include: answering telephones; correspondence, memorandums; chart prep/ filing; scheduling appointments and registering patients. Medical assistant duties include taking vitals
and assisting patients to exam rooms for evaluation by the physicians. Must have tact concerning the handling of people and be accurate in all duties performed. Must maintain professional integrity and confidentiality at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Types correspondence.
2. Sorts, files copies of transcribed reports, retriever medical record charts, and perform other clerical duties as required.
3. Answers telephone and routes calls promptly, takes messages as appropriate.
4. Schedules appointments.
5. Registers patients.
6. Enters patient information into the billing system with correct insurance.
7. Vitals.
8. Assists physician in room when the need arises.
9. Promotes and participates in performance improvement activities.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
11. Supports the corporate mission: to provide quality, cost-effective healthcare in a positive and productive work environment.
12. Adheres to the corporate values: respect, quality service, teamwork, simplicity, and creativity.
13. Must attend all mandatory meetings.
14. Complies with all applicable state and federal laws and conducts job activities in an ethical manner as outlined in Crittenden Community Hospital's policies and procedures and in accordance with the standards and practices stipulated in the Corp. Compliance Plan.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in ordering and stocking clinic supplies.
2. Perform light housekeeping duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Working knowledge of medical terminology.
2. Familiarity with insurance terminology and standard medical insurance practices essential and knowledge of medical necessity.
3. Good typing skills and ability to organize and maintain filing system.
4. Good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with visitors/patients in person or on the telephone.
5. Flexible and adaptable to change.
6. Willingness to learn.

EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Preferred training from certified medical assistant training.
2. Associate in business (optional).
3. Computer skills; Microsoft software.
4. High School diploma preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
l. Lifts boxes & supplies.
2. Sit for long periods of time.
3. Help with lifting, or transferring patients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office.
